What is the Purpose of the Pledge Instruction Program?

The purpose of the Pledge Instruction Program is to inform pledges on Alpha Kappa Psi, its history, its structure, its ideals and objectives, requirements for membership, and to develop and enhance the pledge’s professional abilities and interests.

What Are Some of the Pledge Class Activities?

The pledge period is modeled loosely after the structure and activities of the college chapter. The pledging period is six weeks long. During this time, pledges become acclimated with their fellow pledge classmates and the brothers of the fraternity. It is the goal of the Gamma Chi chapter to build the bond of brotherhood from the beginning. As a pledge class, the following activities will be completed:

• Election of the following officers: President, vice president, secretary, treasurer.
• Conduction of at least one fund-raising activity.
• Planning and conduction of at least one community/college service event.
• Planning and hosting of at least one social event for the chapter.
• Planning and implementation of at least one professional/educational event for the chapter members and/or fellow students of the college.

When Can I Rush?

At Miami University, the Gamma Chi chapter holds a formal recruitment at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. We hope to meet you soon!
